For the week beginning 6 July

Full Moon at 15 Capricorn 24 7 July 2009 at 7.21pm AEST

CANCER

A particularly potent Full Moon for our Crabs as it also incorporates a Lunar Eclipse in your polar opposite sign of Capricorn. This is no time for laying blame; take responsibility for your own needs and wants.

LEO

The acts of bravado might fool some of the people some of the time but it is when you start believing your own bull dust that problems occur. We all experience doubts and fears, don’t let yours see you acting immaturely.

VIRGO

Mercury’s movement into the watery Cancer tends to cloud the mind a bit and your powers of analysis struggle with the fog. This makes you more cautious, finding you need more time for the tasks.

LIBRA

Things liven up a bit as Venus enters Gemini leaving the more stable behaviour of Taurus behind. The focus on money takes a background stance and you start to think of new and interesting holiday destinations.

SCORPIO

Energy levels may have seen you low and dispirited with allergies, if you suffer from them, playing up. Things should start to ease up a bit next week so don’t be temped to take the easy way out.

SAGITTARIUS

For those of you who like a bit of a punt on the horses don’t be lulled into an overly optimistic frame of mind and parting with money you can ill afford to lose. Not a time for risk taking at all.

CAPRICORN

Don’t be surprised if this month’s Full Moon as well as the Lunar Eclipse in your sign brings security issues to the fore. You may start to question your capacity for meaningful relationships.

AQUARIUS

The Moon in your sign towards the end of the week has you feeling restless and unsatisfied. Care should be taken that your need for a bit of personal space is not misconstrued as a distancing from a situation.

PISCES

Sometimes it is better to let people sort out their own affairs as it can be quite disempowering to have matters taken out of your hands. There is also the case for using and abusing the help offered.

ARIES

Take control of your financial situation while you still can. Don’t put it off, the urge and motivation and more importantly the drive to do so is strong at the moment but it will not last into next week.

TAURUS

Instead of maintaining the status quo you may find yourself more inclined to co-operate with others. This is good because if you have been at loggerheads you are now more likely to discuss the issue.

GEMINI

What a relief, the end of the week sees the pace starting to quicken as Mars joins Venus in your sign. Don’t allow your restlessness to scatter your energies, harness it for getting your ideas across.

FULL MOON at 15 CAPRICORN 24

7 July 2009 at 7.21pm AEST

In Jungian and alchemical terms, the Full Moon symbolises the sacred marriage, the blending of feminine and masculine, yin and yang energies, leading to unity of consciousness. Of the twelve signs of the zodiac, the two that most represent the feminine/masculine balance are Cancer and Capricorn.  Although both are the receptive yin energy it is Capricorn, ruled by Saturn that is associated with the patriarchal mode with Cancer associated with the feminine principle.

Full Moons are always powerful catalysts and an eclipse increases the potency even more. As the Earth is sandwiched between the Sun and Moon, the greatest contrast is achieved between conscious and unconscious energies providing opportunity for balance and synthesis.

The tension between Capricorn and Cancer is highlighted with too much Capricorn being overly concerned with the professional and the material whilst too much Cancer is sensitive and vulnerable to satisfying needs through family or children. Positively we have dedication to what serves us all and the nurturance and protection of life.

Added potential is given to this eclipse due to the ongoing Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune conjunction in Aquarius, an occurrence that happens in this sign only once every few thousand years opening the way for equality, collaboration and humanitarianism but with the square to Mars will we continue to bury our heads in the sand.

Dane Rudhyar’s Sabian Symbol for 16 Capricorn – School grounds filled with boys and girls in gym suits – the need for physical activity and play, especially adolescence.

16 Cancer – A man studying a mandala in front of him, with the help of a very ancient book – a deep concern with problems raised by the process of personality integration.
